Remus Watch
This will eventually make it to the Links column but for now, enjoy the pictures of Robin's baby. He's so cute and i can't wait to visit with them when I go to portland next weekend. It's almost time for stranger anxiety to set in so hopefully he'll still be willing to meet new people.
Back to Kaplan questions! Kevin keeps asking me if I'm still studying. Why wouldn't I be?

TheNewOrleansChannel.com - News - Crowd Spends Miserable But Safe Night In Superdome
Okay, read just the first 2 paragraphs...okay, are you back from reading that? If not, I'll give you another chance
Okay, the crowd cheered that they would be able to smoke. Yes, because after food and warmth, smoking is the next basic need for human survival. Ugh.
In other news, kevin is fixing the baby's room and when I think of him using his powersaw which has the highly technical set up - the garage floor - all I can remember is when he decided to play with the blade from mom's food processor. Mom never did use it after that. The room is pretty though. The bottom half is a light lavender and the top half is a light pink with a chair rail between the two. So much for mom's statement that Jodi didn't want yellow, pink, or lavendar. Orange is banned though. And turtles exist because jodi likes them but really isn't much of a theme. These are things needed to be known for anyone planning on overindulging on this child. Okay, back to kaplan questions, I kicked ass on the last 50 questions.

So I just did some questions on the kaplan qbank. I need to remember that in the world of exams, you need to believe the patients when they tell you they don't participate in certain behaviors. In the world I trained, you believe them mostly but still test for the disease or ask again in a way that maybe will sound more trusting to the patient. I got a couple questions wrong because I thought, yeah right! He's so lying! Oh well, that's why you do practice questions!

New Orleans Traffic Cameras
Hmmm...doesn't appear to be very busy. Of course, it could all change by tomorrow. Or perhaps you're reading this on wednesday or thursday and it looks really bad. Well, the mound over pass camera is where the highway flooded up to 8 feet 2 years ago and it is lower than my place but somewhat nearby. Time for bed. Tried to feel my niece kicking but no success. Perhaps tomorrow. She apparently gets viscious and kicks jodi hard or gets in an awkard position that is painful for Jodi. I tried to get an idea of what names they had picked out but that is staying a secret. I did get to see the most recent ultrasound video and saw her little face...as best as one can determine such things with a collection of gray fuzz that is an ultrasound image.
again, time for bed.

Let's play the Good News/Bad News game
Good News: I live on the third floor and that adds a few feet of safety
Bad News: I live on the third/top floor and the roof is the only thing between my apt and the world.
Good News: I have my entire residency application entered
Bad News: My letters aren't scanned in yet and are on the 1st floor of the med school in the lowest part of the city
Good News: I still have my Sip N Swim island inflated and can float around on it if all else fails
Bad News: I have to hold onto that thing carefully and it could probably be flipped over in high winds and if I were to stay on, projectiles in the form of tree branches and what not will be flying at me sitting on a big inner tube
Good News: This is making me crazy and I hear crazy psychotic people really have no connection with reality and this would be useful during a bad experience
Bad News: If I really were psychotic, most residency programs wouldn't rank me.
Good News: this game is over
Bad News: Now I have to study

Um...starting to get worried. The storm seems to continue to inch my way. So much for that predicted tunnel that 2 wind patterns were supposed to create to keep it away from me. And I have step 2 to take next week! Damn it! I have enough to be worried about.
