the life of a torn bubble trying to stay afloat |
So I was contemplating buying a DVD/VCR combo...okay, more like obsessively looking up data on all models available then going to the store to see them in person but I digress...In my quest, I noticed one big thing, these machines are big and bulky because of the VCR portion and I want a cool pretty tiny player. So then I thought, well, I could just buy the $40 DVD tiny player I've seen at all the stores and then slowly buy the DVD versions of the VHS movies I currently own. But then Steph brought up the point that if I wanted to record tv shows I would need a VCR. RIght now I have a TV/VCR combo so that's not an issue but when I become a resident and buy a big tv, it won't be a combo and then I'd need a VCR. I just figured I'd buy the DVD/VCR before I got the tv. Maybe I'll buy the $40 DVD player and then as a resident I'll buy the TV and the combo DVD/VCR. Or by then DVD recorders will be cheap. And yes, I know that my computer screen is 15 inches and my TV is a mere 13 inches but I'm tired of having to set up my computer on my coffee table to watch a movie. Yep, I think I'll buy the DVD player. thanks for helping with this decision.
