Life at Med School

the life of a torn bubble trying to stay afloat |
So I decided to plan ahead for my future computer purchase. While part of me would love to have a new laptop, I think that my next purchase will be a Desktop. I was playing around this past weekend with the prices and features for the powerbook I would get vs the powermac (desktop) I would get and the prices are the same but obviously the processor speeds are better on the desktop. So I decided that my next purchase will be a desktop for home but that I would also buy a new powerbook and write it off as a business expense. Oh and I would have a kick ass wireless network in my home so that I can check my email on my laptop or desktop and play around online in any room of my home. Yep, all I need now is the money...
Today I studied at Borders...and just as I was about to leave, Meredith showed up! She's one of my friends/classmates that I've studied with in the library in the past. We talked about our first week on our last block and both of us are really excited to be done soon. Then I went and bought new shoes because my keds are falling apart. There was a pair of Nikes I was looking at but decided that I have too many Nike shoes and needed brand diversity so I got a pair of KSwiss sneakers. They are white with blue trims here and there and the cool thing is that the tongue can flip from a blue tongue to a white one with blue trim along the edge. Very nice looking shoes. It was frustrating to try on shoes though because they would only bring out one shoe (the right) of whatever shoe I wanted to try on. Later I had to ask them to leave both sides so I could make sure both fit right. I guess many people steal the shoes so even though I was wearing my med school sweater, I was no exception to the rule. Actually, i have a bit of annoyance about the med school thing. I tell people I'm in med school and they always ask "what are you majoring in?" Idiots! Did you not hear me?!? I said I'm in medical school, not college, where people have majors. Or they ask if I'm going to be a nurse. Um...nurses go to NURSING school not medical school. And what, just cause I'm a girl I'm going to be a nurse if I say "medical"?!? Ugh!
