Life at Med School

the life of a torn bubble trying to stay afloat |
I'm tired of dealing with the ingrates that get their FREE medical care at UH. I'm also tired of dealing with the idiots who think that being in a hospital is like being in a hotel and so they are rude to anyone who enters their room. I'll wake you up whenever I need to wake you up because you're here to be treated for something that couldn't be done out of the hospital. So my new policy is that if these ingrates don't let me examine them and yet bitch and moan about pain, then they can sit there in pain because until I (or anyone else) can examine them, I'm not recommending more pain medicine. That being said, I hope I'm not at UH for pediatrics.
Yea! Tomorrow is a day off! Well, sort of. It's the annual Foundations in Medicine Humanities retreat and this year it's at the zoo! I'm a group leader. I'm supposed to lead the group discussions on ethics which usually ends up being a group discussion of 2nd years asking 3rd years about what the 3rd year of med school has been like. Would it be wrong for me to say it's been a living hell, turn back now! Nah, it hasn't been too bad. Some times were better than others though! Well, I'm having odd epigastric pains right now so I'm going to eat some salsa and chips.
Just remembered...The daughter of the man who invented Beano and Lactaid is one of the doctors at Tulane! Apparently his motivation was this doctor who had GI issues as a kid. We all asked our classmate on her team to thank her dad for us. Okay, not the most exciting news but for those of us who are lactose intolerant or anyone who has benefitted from beano (I don't think I've used that yet), you'd want to thank the man too! I have to tell Corinne!
Robin was supposed to have her baby today by induction...I wonder if she had it yet. She said Roman was going to email pictures when Max (at least that's the planned name) is born...I can't wait! In other news, I feel very tired today. I need to put the finishing touches on my presentation of Urinary Incontinence for tomorrow morning. There was something else but I can't remember just yet...eh...it will come to me in the meantime, I'm going to eat dinner
