Tomorrow is the last day I get to sleep in...thursday is the start of gyn wards. I'm on call tomorrow night for OB - kevin and I switched days. I have to work on my personal statement for residency. I just don't know what to write. I guess I should just write crap down then edit later. In other news, my pee is no longer oily looking. Turns out I needed to clean my toilet...and stop looking at my excretia. I presented today on surgery in pregnancy in preceptor group. It went well...I think. We started the group off talking about the recent time change and I had a little fun with Dr. L. She talked about how it's easier to make the adjustment if you're younger and so I said, I just don't make the switch...I don't believe in daylight savings time. I guess I was convincing enough since she then seemed to seriously ask me if I was serious and then what I do to make sure I'm on time. So I then said I was joking but then told her about Heather's uncle that seriously didn't adjust his watch for the change and that people had to tell him to be somewhere at 7pm so he would be there on time. Anyway, then I told her that I didn't really pay much attention to the daylight savings time thing or change my watch until my first year in college anyway. Of course, having just joked around about not believing in the time change, she doubted the truth in this statement...but it's true! Hawaii doesn't change clocks for this absurd practice! I always thought that people knew this but apparently not. While I truly think that it's an absurd practice to "spring forward and fall back," I do participate since it's easier to be on time that way. I mean seriously folks, who are we kidding?!? Adding an extra hour of daylight to the day by changing the clocks?!? Couldn't those damn farmers just wake up an hour earlier in the fall or later in the spring instead of throwing of everyone else who doesn't farm?!? There's more of us than there are of them! I say we band together against those farmers and tell them to just deal and adjust their alarm clocks and leave us alone! Now I need to wait a whole extra hour before calling my family and friends in hawaii! Oh and then related to the fatigue issue of 3rd year, I also made the offhand comment that I could drink caffeine or just take more thyroid medicine and leave the rest of them in my dust. To which I was jokingly asked by Dr. L "Do I need to order some blood work on you?" Ah, my humor is often missed but it's nice when people catch on. Well, law and order SVU is on and I'm sort of studying as well.

I have a tummy ache. I don't know if it was the honey mustard chips or the li hing mui I ate in monstrous portions or maybe it was all that combined with pesto and lemon peel. I just don't know what could be causing my ailment. But I'll probably be really bloated for quite some time. I need to learn to control these snacking binges. Eh...potty time
