Life at Med School
the life of a torn bubble trying to stay afloat

I delivered a baby on tuesday. It was pretty cool. Not as bloody as I anticipated but that's a good thing because I think I would freak if my scrubs got all bloody. I'm used to it on my gloved hands but elsewhere...I'm on call on sunday...all freaking day. And so I won't be home from early sunday morning (6 am) til Monday evening (after 5 pm) since I'm going to spend the night. So much more convenient and that allows me an hour more of sleep plus the nap I'll take monday after rounds. Dr. Dola, my attending will also be on call. She's incredible! The teaching rounds are sometimes painful because no one knows the answers it seems many times but I learn alot so I guess no pain no gain. At least it's not just the T3s who sit with blank looks on their faces. Though I guess that doesn't say much for the residents, who are pretty nice and easy going. My back hurts right now because my uterus is contracting to spit out the endometrial lining that has built up over the past 25 days in preparation for a fertilized ovum that did not form. Now that my dad has passed out, let me give more details...just kidding dad!

Tomorrow I'm on call again. I'm spending the night this time and hopefully I'll be able to get a bit more sleep in than last time and then on wednesday after rounds I can take another nap before lectures. Oh man, lecture will be at noon on wednesday which means that I need to somehow get to sleep by 9:30 am so I can wake up and leave university hosp by 11:30 am. This could be tricky...good night world
