Life at Med School

the life of a torn bubble trying to stay afloat |
I got a marriage proposal today. So if mom and dad wouldn't mind having a 48 year old Manic man as a son in law who likes multiple wives (he proposed to my classmate 5 seconds later and apparently tried to kiss another classmate earlier that day)...Tonight is my psych call so I have to tape my shows. I think I have to go in on sunday to write notes on all the patients on our team but I guess they don't need to be detailed. I'll just ask the basics and write up a little diddy of a note then be on my merry way. Monday is possibly a holiday depending on what our attending decides. I need to snack on something.
I think I jinxed myself for today's psych outpatient clinic. When asked about what I had this afternoon, I affectionately called it my "Crazy Clinic." So perhaps I was punished by having to interview a new patient with a 20 year vague psych history. At least he was manic so he spoke fast (but not too fast) and managed to stay on topic for the most part and had fair insight and seems happy to start medical therapy once medically cleared. I think it's funny that as a psych student I now no longer need to use my stethoscope as that is no longer my main role in this crazy game called 3rd year. Oh well, so I not only had to sit through my interview but then the 4th year interviewed him briefly and then Dr. Rodenhauser came and asked the same questions but the patient seemed to have more details each time. IN short, I just got home because I didn't get to start working on my note until 5 pm and it took me awhile to make sure I got all the info in. Bleh. I hope I get to see him when he comes next week when my job will be faster and easier barring any complications. Great. I just jinxed myself again...I can just FEEL it.
