Lame! So it turns out that my team's game isn't being televised here. And on top of that, now the cheap bastards at yahoo sports charge for audio broadcasts as do the asses at the Oregon Sports network! I'm mad!

Yesterday I saw a kidney transplant and it was pretty cool seeing the kidney reperfuse and get pink again. I couldn't really see much even though I was scrubbed in since they put the kidney down in the pelvis (the usual location for kidney transplants). And today I saw a liver and Kidney transplant (they put both in the same person). The new liver was pretty and brown and I thought it was pretty big but apparently not all that big - and I was told that my liver is probably only slightly smaller because I'm a smaller person than the organ donor. The liver that came out was small and nasty and nodular and fatty and pretty much what you would expect for someone who abused alcohol and had hepatitis C for 10 years. Yep, it looked like the pictures in the pathology textbook but was much more interesting in person. Well, I'm going to be spoiled on this service since I don't have to get there until 6:15 (I rounded at that time on Urology so I was there by 5:30 on that service).
Time for dinner.

Well today was my last day on Urology. It was lots of fun! I was surprised how much I liked it. I think it had quite a bit to do with who I was working with. It would have been nice to do more physical exams than I got to do but oh well...Next is transplant.
Tonight I had dinner with Aunty Trudy. It was nice seeing her. I haven't seen her since Kevin's wedding 2 years ago. She was nice and brought me some cookies from home. I also got to eat a real meal for once. The only problem is that now I'm used to having to shovel food down quickly so I don't know how to eat slowly anymore. Horrible! No wonder I'm starting to have heartburn problems with most meals. Stupid surgeons that don't believe eating is a necessity for survival. You need to make up reasons to get away for awhile just to eat. And yet, these same people were in our places sometimes no more than 1 year ago! I'm going to be nice as a resident and let my people go eat (cause I'll want to eat anyway). Okay, time for bed!

Well, Oregon won another game. This time they sported an all white jersey with hunter green lettering. Boring but better than those hideous yellow and green ones (offically the colors are now lightning yellow and thunder green...who comes up with these ideas?). Apparently they have 9 different jerseys to mix and match throughout the season. Hmmm...nice to see that Phil Knight is still funding the program. Next week will suck since they play a real team. It's sad when a team's motto for the season is "Finish." That's because all last year the morons that are on the Oregon football team stopped playing after the first half. Well, I'm heading off to sleep since we round at 6:15 am and I like to take my time writing my progress notes. Tuesday I may be able to meet up with Aunty Trudy to have dinner (she's here on vacation).
