argh! I spent so much time sifting through articles online and because there was a tad bit too much idle time, the articles I tagged are gone and now I've got to go through those articles again!

Guess what I got to do today! I heard a Mitral Valve Prolapse! It was pretty neat! I had to listen for a few seconds before I could separate the sounds but it was there! And I also got my cholesterol and Liver function tested with a simple blood prick. It wasn't fasting (I had OJ and yogurt for breakfast and KFC for dinner last night) but it was done before I ate lunch. And here are the results (be impressed, be very impressed)
Triglycerides 57 mg/dl (the blood fat)
Total Cholesterol 139 mg/dl
Glucose 100 mg/dl
HDL 50 mg/dl (>40 is good - this is the good cholesterol)
LDL 77 mg/dl (trust me, this is a kick ass level since my mom had to be on a drug to get this low)
TC/HDL 2.8 (anything less than 4.5 is good)
ALT 21 (my liver is happy)

All were impressed. Now in celebration I'm awaiting my pizza. I'm watching a LAME show - American Juniors. These kids may be adorable that can't exactly sell records since the song they made for them is pathetic! And yet, I watched it so I guess that makes me worse than pathetic.

I saw a bunch of my classmates last night at Andy's "Beers of the World" party. It was fun hearing about the adventures we're all having. Kristi and I laughed about our rural Louisiana adventures. Apparently her living situation is less than stellar so I'm now very glad that I'm able to commute every day since I doubt living in the hospital would have been very nice. Apparently the fishing rodeo is near where she's at (the same rodeo my preceptor is going to this weekend). When I hear about the hours my classmates have I start getting very scared of leaving the luxury of family medicine.
