Okay, after reading more about the pros and cons of various camera models, I have changed my mind about the kodak and now like the sony DSC-P72. The apple discussion board folks seem to endorse Canon and Nikon models but I'm not too impressed with the nikons (look and features are lacking) and the canons seem to offer the exact same things in terms of optical zoom at $100 more than the sony and kodak. The look of the canon is sleek though. I still like sony.

After a search of the major camera manufacturers, I have settled on a Kodak model. It was a toss up between the DX6340 and the Fuji FinePix3800. They have very similar specs but the kodak has a higher optical resolution and my self education via the internet tells me that I want the optical resolution to be the highest that's affordable so that puts the kodak over the fuji. The last two camera I have owned have been Fujis so I feel like I'm betraying my camera company but hey, unless I win $$ in the next few weeks, the kodak will be the winner. Now, I'm not going out tomorrow to buy a camera and the biggest reasons are 1. I really don't have the $$ even though I could theoretically split the cost between my credit union accounts and my bank one accounts (aka federal aid). But the #2 reason and the most limiting reason, the camera isn't going to be released until May and since there's no actual date set on the kodak site, I have no idea in may when this will occur but hopefully early on so I can slowly learn how to use it while I study so that by the time I go to vegas, I'll be able to take kick ass pictures of the shows we see (like the cirque du soleil show "O") and the stuff we do (except gambling...I remember vaguely that pictures were not allowable on the gambling floor for some reason).

I'm tired. Today we had our day of professionalism with the theme "Leadership and Diversity." And it was BORING!!! Last year was better in many ways...including the food (10000x better last year). We took a very small questionnaire to determine which of 4 leadership personality types we are and I'm a mix of practical and social. Afterwards I walked around the quarter trying to find the map store I stumbled upon 3 years ago when I came here for my interview...i couldn't find it and I was getting tired so I gave up and came home. But I did get a baby gift for Erinn's baby. It was custom made cool sign with his name in multicolors. Then I got a box to ship mom's birthday gift home as well as tons of mardi gras beads for Sherry. I'm beat. Oh and I looked at digital cameras at office depot. I kind of want an ipod as well but I also need to save money for my vegas trip for meals and such. Hmmm...federal aid will be coming in shortly after my vegas trip...what to do what to do! I'm glad I didn't spend that money on a bunny or wallet, that's for sure!

Bleh, I need to order chinese food for a meeting next monday. I also need to study and vaccuum and do other things like find out what I need to change my oregon plates into louisiana ones. I also need to set up an appointment for my car's checkup and oil change which are overdue but since the levels always look right to me I didn't bother (i like playing with that dip stick). And if I'm going to the cadaver ball (starting to lose interest) I need to find a dress. I think I'd rather spend the money on something else.
Guess what I saw at the shopping mall the other day when I went with JEff and heather. I very cool turtle wallet. And after I had restrained from buying it, we then decided to go to the pet store and I saw the cutest little netherland dwarf bunny!!! So I stood there petting it for a long time. It was only $25 but after paying for a cage, food, food dish, water bottle, and other bunny essentials, it would have been more and since we didn't know if they used pesticides on the grass I would never be able to let the bunny hop around out there (plus the many dogs would scare it) and I would be pretty busy once 3rd year started, so I decided it was not a good existance for a happy cute bunny and I walked away. Did I mention it was very very cute? ohhhhh....

I have digital images that were taken with heather's camera on a cd she burned for me so when I have time this afternoon, I'll post a link. On to my worried thought of the day...
I just read some thing about air and immersion blasts and the worst thing is that the book doesn't mention where or how these blasts occur so I don't know how to avoid them. Here's what happens:
"Blast Injury. This form of injury obviously implies a violent increase in pressure either in the atmosphere (air blast) or in water (immersion blast). With air blast, the compression wave impinges on the side toward the explosion and so may collapse the thorax or violently compress the abdomen, with rupture of internal organs. The pressure wave may enter the airways and damage the alveoli. The following wave of decreased pressure, with its sudden expansion of the abdomen and thorax, may rupture the intestines or lungs."
...yeah, sounds pleasant.
And here's another reason why I fear thunderstorms and being struck by lightning: "When lightning is transmitted internally, it may produce sufficient heat and steam to explode solid organs, fracture bones, or char areas of organs." explode my liver?!? charred spleen?!? Now you see my fear. And we all know wet skin conducts electricity better than dry skin so why would I put myself in the situation to die or explode my organs?!?

I guess my spring break is officially over since school starts up again tomorrow. Last night I went to the scut monkey ball and it was lots of fun. We had a really good dinner and I actually ate oysters. They were charbroiled and had a garlic and butter flavor to them. Pretty good. The texture took some getting used to. I had veal with pasta and that was good. The ball itself was in a tiny ballroom and the bar area was so crowded that it took forever for us to get drinks everytime we wanted something. I finally just got 2 drinks at a time since i was tired of waiting all the time. We danced and I got to display my rhythmless action for all the LSU kids to see. Jeff's friend Kelly looks a lot like andy martin. And a big surprise was seeing Marcus (a T3) there. I guess he went to school with a bunch of the LSU kids and I would guess that since they're all 3rd years, they see each other in the hospitals that the two schools share duties in. Some girl threw up all over the dance floor and on a few other people out there. Thankfully my heartburn started to annoy me a bit so jeff and I weren't out there because we could possibly have been victims. Then we went to club 360 that's at the top of some building. Apparently it slowly rotates around but not that night. It had a nice viewpoint though. I was so tired by the time we got home but I had to wash my hair since it smelled like cigarette smoke and I can't have that smell tainting my bed. I now feel in the mood for a stuffed artichoke from crazy johnies. I wonder if I can get it to go.
