the life of a torn bubble trying to stay afloat

Could it be true? Will I now have something to be happy about when shopping in New Orleans? I just watched the news and it turns out there is this new tax law here: The Stelly Law. Apparently the tax on certain food items will be 0% come July! Now it's supposed to be a 3% tax. The food has to be in sizes that are not single serving or for immediate consumption. So it basically rewards those who have a home and the necessity for real grocery shopping. Come july, I could buy a large pringles can and pay no tax but if I were to buy the little single serving cans, I would pay the full tax. So now my plan is to figure out just how much this new law will cover...let's see if I buy an Apple computer product, could I say, "an apple is a fruit" and get tax exempt....probably not but there's got to be someone corrupt enough (or dumb enough) in city hall that I could confuse so much as to get tax relief. Eh, I guess I'll just have my oregon relatives buy my computer products and ship it to me...I better figure out what happens when you insure something sent via USPS and they lose or otherwise damage the item.

I just heard the saddest news...sad in the pathetic sort of way that is. This guy, Jim Brown used to be Louisiana's Insurance Commissioner and he is now in jail because he lied to the FBI and did some other unethical deed. Well, here's the pathetic thing. He's the 3rd CONSECUTIVE person who had this title to be sent to jail! What am I doing here?!? I know corruption exists in all state and federal governments but it seems like only Louisiana's corrupt officials aren't smart to enough to avoid being caught! Eh, not surprising since the average iq is lower compared to the national average...I know, I should stop making fun of my patient population...Actually, most of the patients I have seen so far are quite witty and smart. Some are in denial but smart none the less.

Just finished watching the superbowl...ouch! As if the other interceptions weren't bad enough but to be picked off in the last seconds and have to lose by an even larger score...Dad, I guess you chose to cheer for Oakland since they were the underdogs in the end. I decided in the beginning to choose Tampa because they had never been to a superbowl and later I learned they had an unbelievably crappy no win season before this one. And being a defense flag football player myself, I must say defense is always best! I kind of like that I grew up in a state without professional teams because I can cheer for whoever I want. I guess I could cheer for the Saints but they seem to be a so-so team and then now I have the Hornets to cheer for as well. One of the players on the hornets team was on the UCLA team that I saw play in the pit those years at Oregon and I remember his stupid headband and high socks then and the oregon fans would tease him about that and being an oregon fan, I basically repeated everything my more creative fellow fans made up. Some of those taunts were rather witty so it makes me wonder how they can be so smart in that respect yet be so dumb in classes. Oh I got fed up with my battery operated blender yesterday (the batteries aren't strong enough to spin the blade if ice gets stuck) while making a smoothie that I went to kmart to buy an electrical one (it was on sale). I think the battery operated one works great for ice cream and mixing simple stuff though and it worked great for all these past years - it was a gift from my brother when I was still in college (he also got me a microwave cookbook so if you want to know how to make chicken flavored popcorn, let me know...no I haven't made it). Well, I guess I'll get some more work done now.
