My right hand hurts. I've been working on notes for pharmacology and writing out the learning objectives and their answers though some of the profs made a point to say that certain things were important and most of those little factoids are not even asked about in said learning objectives so my plan to study my notes will have to be supplemented by a look through of the noteservice notes that either are colorcoded for importance or bolded by my high yield notetakers. A few notetakers feel the need to present the notes in a story which really annoys me because I have no space to make corrections or comments and it makes my notes look more disorganized than they already are (sometimes I use abbreviations and notation that I have to spend a few seconds to figure out when I go back to review them...that and my writing is illegible at times). Well, I just read chris' blog and it was full of interesting info as always like he and his friend Jake taking a Gaelic language class...I didn't realize that speaking Gaelic was that popular in Portland. Perhaps if Chris can visit me (yes, that's directed at you my tall and equally unique cousin) I'll learn some fun Gaelic phrases to impress the drunkies at future parties...or maybe just Jeff, Stephanie, and Heather will get a kick out of it, either way I'm sure I'll manage to share the knowledge with some unwilling person. Oh Chris, I made an Oregon Chai milkshake the other day (there's a store here that sells the stuff so I bought 5 containers so I didn't have to keep driving out there - $4 each so it was worth it to me). My hand seems to feel a little bit relaxed now so back to work. It seems odd that most of my ailments seem to be induced by school yet there's no "student's compensation" in place like there is "workman's comp." Tomorrow's the superbowl and I think I'll go over to my classmate's house for part of the festivities. Maybe I'll just go for the 2nd half of the game since the end of games is where I think you really see the pro players play their best...especially if the game is close. Otherwise they don't seem to make the effort to make the big plays early on in the game like college players.

Mmmmm...roasted garlic. I just put some garlic in my new garlic roaster thing (a glazed ceramic dish but it seems like so much more!) and I'm salivating at the thought of enjoying the garlic! I didn't have olive oil so I decided to use the oil that the artichokes were marinated in (purchased at sam's club) to see what that makes the garlic taste like. in 80 minutes, I'll be in garlic heaven and will have to avoid all human contact for a while...I hope I'll be fine by tomorrow since I have a very long day. I'll be done after 7 pm cause I have a sp session to learn how to do the mental status exam. One of the questions someone asked in their group was "Who discovered the South Pole?" If that's a question, then my mental status isn't that great cause I haven't a clue! I liken that question to the "How many dimples on a golf ball?" question racist government officials used to prevent african americans from being able to vote way back then. Who knows? Actually, if you have time, you should browse through the us citizenship exam study guides at bookstores...most americans by birth wouldn't be able to answer many of those questions. On a side note, I was pleased to see that on a recent "Jay Walking" segment of the Jay Leno show, someone in my age group was able to answer the questions about how many stars, what they meant and how many stripes and what they meant correctly...in fact, I think he offered the the meaning of the stripes before the question was asked. I'm hungry.
