The ducks are idiots!!! I can play better than they can...at least in the 2nd half when they apparently lose all their "talent." Oh well...at least Tulane won today...not that I really care about that team anyway. My parents are here visiting and tomorrow they get to see the beast within all medical students as my team takes on some sorority team. I guess we're rather rough (or at least the stupid blind undergrad ref seems to think so) so it will be interesting to see how many penalties get called against us. I have to be careful cause I think the idiot ref hates me...afterall, I did repetitively insult her to her face 2 weeks ago and if she's smart enough, she probably took note of what I looked like to punish me later. They hate our team anyway so why not be extra rough anyway. They're only sorority girls...the dispensibles of society. Don't believe me? I site the many episodes of "Sorority Life" shown on MTV. The only person dumber than some of those girls is Anna Nicole Smith. Yeah, I watched a couple episodes and I can't believe there are people who can behave like that and yet people still had some sort of attraction towards that. The theory of evolution says that only the species that can adapt to the environment can survive and you would usually assume that involved some sort of brain power but I guess there are those people that slide through anyway. And to truly contribute to evolution, you need to have kids that have kids themselves so that your genes survive. Yeah, there will be little anna nicole clones out there cause she has a son who will most likely find a way to reproduce. I feel bad for the kid. They showed an episode where his mom was embarassing him in front of all these teenage girls who came to the house for some sort of pr thing. Well, goodnight.

studying really makes life suck. Actually, exams make life suck since learning this stuff is fun without that additional pressure. In fact, the path dept decided that we needed more time to take the exam and so they alloted up 3 full hours!!! I'm scared. The pharm exam is only 30 questions with an hour to take it. See, the plus side is that it's only an hour, the bad side is that with only 30 questions, I can't miss more than 9 if I plan on passing! and only 1 if I plan on honoring, 4 if I want to high pass. This leaves no room for the stupid mistakes that I'm guaranteed to make on every exam I take. Then you look at the path exam with 120 or so questions. Long but more room for error, if you will where 9 wrong gives me an honors and 36 wrong keeps me in the passing range.
Oh, I ordered my ophthalmoscope so in a few weeks, I'll be in technology heaven...sort of. back to these damn lung tumors...do yourself a favor and don't smoke, don't inhale asbestos, and you know what, just don't breathe!!!

Wow! Look how often I've posted in the past few days. I amaze even myself. Well, I did it, I made the decision to order my panoptic ophthalmoscope and instead of paying $20 more for the nasal probe/splinter finder ($25 retail so if I need it later, it's affordable...sorry if you were looking forward to me peering up your nose) I chose instead to invest in the more spendy handle that has the fancier battery that lasts longer and weighs less. Apparently it lasts for 5 years and if I need a new one before I end my education (including residency) then it's free so my plan is to wait until I absolutely need a new battery and then get it replaced free of charge before I become a real, unsupervised doc. And apparently, as long as it's not stolen or lost, they'll replace the scope as long as I'm in school for free. That's right! Even those random acts of god that most other electronic companies won't cover, welch-allyn will cover it! So in 2 weeks, this baby will be mine. And since practice makes perfect, watch out! And even though no one decided to invest in my career, I may let a select few touch this thing. If I'm feeling nice, I may even let you look at my optic disc or any one else's who happens to be in the room and doesn't mind (consent folks!) Well, you may be asking yourself, "wasn't cara deciding whether or not to spend $20 more and now she's paying $80 more for a fancier handle?!?" Yes, but like all investments, if I decide to sell later (like if I end up doing something that involves no eye exams), I can get a good price for this baby since I paid more...that reminds me, I get to sell my microscope next year to some unsuspecting 1st year. Let's see, I paid $700, used it infrequently, hey, why not sell it for $800? Or ask for $800 but then drop it down to $750 as a bonus for the buyer! Yeah, you're right, I should just sell it for $700 and hope I get a bite. Well, on to the lovely world of lung tumors!

Brummel n brown...spread the joy around! Ymmmm...nothing like a sourdough english muffin with strawberry yogurt spread. I'm thinking this stuff never goes bad since I'm using the same container from over 8 months ago. Anyway, in my utter disgust at my college team yesterday, I had them dropping far lower than those that matter did since they dropped to 12th. So while they're no longer in the top 10, at least they still have a chance to improve their ranking. Apparently this week was the same week that they lost to stanford last year and also at Autzen! I think they play crappy in autzen cause they want to show off and so when they have a very comfortable lead, they slack off and end up losing. At any rate, unless WSU or ASU lose and lose more than once and the ducks don't lose any more games, they still have a shot at the rose bowl but right now, that looks like a long shot since both of those teams are pretty good this year. And why must they always lose two days before the BCS comes out with their messed up rankings. What, do they enjoy the challenge? freaks, all of them! Well, I'm going to finish breakfast and then get back to more lung pathology. honeycomb lung...mmmm....delicious!
