argh! I was enjoying a very close game between Oregon and Fresno State on fox sports and it was down to the last 5 minutes (on the clock but we all know how long 5 minutes can last in football) and Oregon was so close to scoring when they cut away from the game and said that they would keep us updated about the game because they were now going to start showing the stupid colorado game. Then to make things worse, they show commercials!!! I started having a fit and was in such a state of shock that it took me awhile to get over to my computer in an attempt to listen to the game on internet radio but since I now have my new computer, I couldn't listen to it because the newer system doesn't support the application! What the hell were those $@%!^ thinking (sorry, but my mom may be reading this)?!? I mean, that stupid colorado game wasn't even near starting and I'm sure everyone else could care less about beavis and butthead merchandise and other crap they advertise on tv! So I missed the end of my game because of their stupid producers who felt the need to so such a horrible and unethical thing as black out the end of a very good game! And for some odd reason, cable internet seemed exceedingly slow! why do they torment me so? I gave up 4 hours of precious study time (ignore that part mom and dad) to watch this game and I was denied the pleasure of my team pulling out a victory in the last few minutes of a tight game. I think those fox programmers should be lined up and shot for such a crime against civilization. It's not like people cared to listen to sports casters share their opinion of a game that hasn't started yet. I personally find them annoying. Well, you know I immediately went to the fox sports website to complain but their server was soooo slow that I started getting annoyed at my inability to complain. So after I finish this, I'm going to attempt to slander them if their site has finally sped up. I know what you're thinking, it won't matter but hey, that's the kind of attitude that prevents things from happening. Don't worry, I won't do anything to get me arrested, I have too much ahead of me to do such a foolish thing as that. I have my limits. Alright, gotta go slander.

I have a headache and I don't know what caused it. By the way, I went to bed early and for the first time heard my alarm go off at 6 am but I accidentally pushed the off button instead of the snooze button and didn't wake up again until 8. But lucky for me the lecture I was about to miss was by this one doc who gives us her powerpoint slides then proceeds to read them word for word to us. So I didn't bother rushing off to catch the end of that lecture. Tonight in the charity er was boring. I "educated" patients on various health concerns but for the most part, I just read stats and they listened but really didn't care. Or at least, that's the feeling I got. One of the residents asked me to give info to one of his patients about hypertension and cholesterol and she could care less because she had already been given the speech before and didn't care to hear it again. I'm beginning to think that unless a patient asks me for help to change, there's no point in telling them about the risks of their lifestyle choices since they don't seem to care. Or they don't want to admit that their choices are causing their current ailments. I did get to talk with a man who was more than willing to show me the long term clinical manifestations of gout. So I got to see the tophi under the skin and malformations of the fingers. It was pretty cool to see it in person though I kept my excitement hidden lest he think I take pleasure in other people's pain. Other than that, nothing interesting happened. Apparently it was a relatively safe day for the city of New Orleans since only 2 people were in the trauma section of the er (I was in the med er).
So my friends and I have noticed that the authors of our pathology textbook appear to interject humor at the end of sections. For example: "It begins to appear that everything one does to gain a livelihood or for pleasure is fattening, immoral, illegal, or, even worse, oncogenic." And then there's this one: "Evidently, many tumors have not read textbooks of pathology." Oh, it's so funny! Who knew pathology could be so entertaining. By the way, if you find no humor in this, it is obvious that studying is damaging more brain cells than increasing dendritic connections as studying should be doing (neural cells can't divide so you can't "grow" new neural cells)
All right, back to the wonderful world of neoplasms. By the way, no one has jumped at the opportunity to view neoplasms...chicken?

oh well, my laziness has led me to conclude that I just will take off most of the photos online and just leave my favorites. And since most of the folks who will be looking at the page have seen me and my classmates drunk for over a year, there's no sense in showing those anymore. Besides I need to put those in my creative memories album. Of course, I still have to put in my pictures from my 21st birthday (wow! that was 4 years ago! I really have been slacking! All this studying nonsense is getting in the way). Maybe I should just have my mom do it and then do the journaling when I have time since I have all the pens here I just don't have the fun stickers, papers, and not to mention the time! Speaking of time, I'm going to bed early since tomorrow I have a long day of cancer. Yeah, in an effort to integrate all the classes, every single lecture is about neoplasms (pathogenesis and the drugs to treat or cause them) for the next few weeks. Sounds fun huh? Well, if you're lucky and you ask nice, I'll violate copywrite laws and send you a cool picture of colon polyps. They look like odd shaped mushrooms growing on intestinal mucosa. I didn't realize how huge they can get but you'll have to see it to admire the beauty of the picture. And if I'm feeling really nice, I'll send you other pictures of pathological states in the human body. Sure, you may be thinking that it would be cruel for me to send such images to you but half the time, things are so messed up you won't be able to tell what it is anyway (I certainly can't). If you have a weak stomach, then perhaps you should allow a waiting period of a couple hours before and after meals before viewing the images (though they really aren't that bad compared to the forensic medicine and dermatopathology pix we were subjected to after lunch last week). Okay, time for bed, my calf muscles are hurting and I ate too much dairy in the past 2 days for my lactose intolerant body to tolerate (I forgot the lactaid at home).

Argh! So I spent a long time working on moving over my photos to my regular website off the apple site and after working on the pages with my website program, I encounter a problem. The server that hosts my site has a flipping limit!!! So now I need to find a new site for the photos and I guess keep doing that until I no longer need space. Of course I could pay for unlimited space somewhere but I'm cheap. I wonder if I could use this server for my photos...
